Saints celebrated on the 26th of May
ELECTUS, MONK
Electus was a devout Franciscan in Bremen in the Lower Saxony district [Germany].
He was party devoted to the Ascension of the Lord, for the celebration of which he always prepared by eight days of fasting and fervent prayer.
In the year 1365, during his last illness, he sang three times in a clear voice at the time of holy Mass on the said festival: "I go to my father and your father, to my God and your God!" After he had finished the verse the third time, he fell gently asleep in the Lord.
