Saints celebrated on the 9th of April
SAINT ACATIUS, BISHOP OF AMIDA
Today, we also commemorate the Saint Acatius. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Amida, in Mesopotamia, Saint Acatius, bishop, who melted and sold even the sacred vessels in order to ransom captives."
PRAYER:
Grant to your Church, we beseech you, O Lord, through the intercession of Saint Acatius, not to think high-mindedly, but to grow in humility pleasing to you; that, despising what is base, she may with unbounded love diligently do whatever is right. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
