Saints celebrated on the 3rd of May
SAINTS ALEXANDER AND ANTONINA, MARTYRS
Today, we also commemorate Saints Alexander and Antonina. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Constantinople, the holy martyrs Alexander, soldier, and Antonina, virgin. In the persecution of Maximian, under the governor Festus, Antonina, having been condemned to remain in a house of debauch, was delivered by Alexander, who secretly exchanging garments with her, took her place. They were. tortured together, and both having their hands cut off, and being cast into the fire, were crowned at the end of their noble combat for the faith."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Alexander and Antonina may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
