Saints celebrated on the 14th of June
SAINTS ANASTASIUS, FELIX, AND DIGNA, MARTYRS
Saint Anastasius, a 9th century priest of Cordoba in Spain, was put to death as a Christian, together with Saint Felix, a monk of Aicala, by one of the persecuting Mohammedan Caliphs (A.D. 857). With them is associated the name of Saint Digna, a Christian maiden, who was a witness of their martyrdom and herself demanded from the judge to share their fate. The bodies of all three were burned, and the ashes thrown into the river Guadalquivir.
(From The Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate)
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Anastasius, Felix, and Digna may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
