SAINTS SALVIUS AND SUPERIUS, MARTYRS
Saint Salvius, born in the South of France, became Bishop of Angouleme. He later undertook the preaching of Christianity to the Pagans of Flanders, and met his death at their hands in the neighbourhood of Valenciennes, together with Saint Superius, his priest or deacon. This happened in the 8th century.
(From The Book of Saints, 1921, by the Monks of Ramsgate)

Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Salvius and Superius may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
