Saints celebrated on the 6th of May
THE TRANSLATION OF SAINT MATTHEW, APOSTLE
Today, we also commemorate The Translation of Saint Matthew, Apostle. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Salerno, the Translation of Saint Matthew, apostle. His sacred body previously transferred from Ethiopia to various countries, was finally taken to Salerno, and there with a great pomp placed in a church dedicated under his invocation."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of The Translation of Saint Matthew, Apostle, may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
