Saints celebrated on the 9th of May
THE TRANSLATION OF SAINTS ANDREW AND LUKE, APOSTLES
Today, we also commemorate The Translation of Saints Andrew and Luke, Apostles. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Constantinople, the translation of the apostle Saint Andrew and the evangelist Saint Luke, out of Achaia, and of Timothy, disciple of the blessed apostle Paul, from Ephesus. The body of Saint Andrew, long after, was conveyed to Amalfi, where it is honoured by the pious concourse of the faithful. From his tomb continually issues a liquid which heals diseases."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of The Translation of Saint Andrew and Luke, Apostles, may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
