Saints celebrated on the 11th of May
SAINT ANTHIMUS, PRIEST AND MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Anthimus. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Rome, on the Salarian road, the birthday of blessed Anthimus, priest, who, after having distinguished himself by his virtues and preaching, was precipitated into the Tiber, in the persecution of Diocletian. He was rescued by an angel, and restored to his oratory. Being afterwards decapitated, he went victoriously to heaven."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Anthimus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
