Saints celebrated on the 13th of June
SAINT AQUILINA, VIRGIN AND MARTYR - 13 JUNE
Today, we also commemorate Saint Aquilina. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Byblos, in Palestine, Saint Aquilina, virgin and martyr, at the age of twelve years, under the emperor Diocletian and the judge Volusian. For the confession of the faith she was buffeted, scourged, pierced with red-hot bodkins, and being struck with the sword, consecrated her virginity by martyrdom."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Aquilina may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
