Saints celebrated on the 8th of June
SAINT CALLIOPA, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Calliopa. The Roman Martyrology states:
"The same day, Saint Calliopa, martyr, who, for the faith of Christ, had her breasts cut off, her flesh burned, was rolled on broken pottery, and being lastly decapitated, received the palm of martyrdom."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Calliopa may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
