Saints celebrated on the 31st of May
SAINT HERMIAS, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Hermias. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Comana, in Pontus, in the time of the emperor Antoninus, Saint Hermias, a soldier. Being miraculously delivered from many horrible torments, he converted his executioner to Christ, and made him partaker of the crown which he himself obtained first by having his head struck off with the sword."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Hermias may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
