Saints celebrated on the 26th of July
SAINT HYACINTH, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Hyacinth. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Porto, Saint Hyacinth, martyr, who was first thrown into the fire, and then precipitated into a stream without being injured. Afterwards, under the emperor Trajan, being struck with the sword by the ex-consul Leontius, he terminated his life. His body was buried by the matron Julia, on her own estate near Rome."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Hyacinth may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
