ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 2nd of September
SAINT JUSTUS, BISHOP OF LYON
Today, we also commemorate Saint Justus. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Lyon, in France, Saint Justus, bishop and confessor, who was endowed with extraordinary sanctity, and a prophetic spirit. He resigned his bishopric, and retired into a desert of Egypt, with his lector Viator. When he had for some years led an almost angelical life, and the end of his meritorious labours had come, he went to our Lord to receive the crown of justice, on the 14th day of October. His holy body, together with the relics of his blessed lector Viator, was afterwards taken to Lyon on this day."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Justus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
