Saints celebrated on the 14th of July
SAINT JUSTUS, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Justus. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Rome, Saint Justus, soldier under the tribune Claudius. A miraculous cross appearing to him, he believed in Christ, was baptised, and bestowed his goods on the poor. Arrested afterwards by the prefect Magnetius, he was scourged, had a heated helmet put on his head, and was thrown into the fire, but without injury even to a hair of his head. Finally, he yielded up his soul in the confession of the Lord."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Justus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
