Saints celebrated on the 19th of July
SAINTS JUSTA AND RUFINA, VIRGINS AND MARTYRS
Today, we also commemorate Saints Justa and Rufina. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Seville, in Spain, the martyrdom of the holy virgins Justa and Rufina. Arrested by the governor Diogenian, they were stretched on the rack and lacerated with iron claws, then imprisoned, and subjected to starvation and various tortures. Lastly Justa breathed her last in prison, and Rufina had her neck broken while confessing Christ."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Justa and Rufina may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
