Saints celebrated on the 16th of November
SAINT ELPIDIUS AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS OF CONSTANTINOPLE
Today, we also commemorate Saint Elpidius and Companions. The Roman Martyrology states:
"The same day, the holy martyrs Elpidius, Marcellus, Eustochius, and their companions. Elpidius being a senator, and having perseveringly confessed the Christian faith before Julian the Apostate, was, with his companions, first tied to wild horses and dragged by them, and then being thrown into the fire, ended a glorious martyrdom."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Elpidius, Marcellus, Eustochius, and Companions may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
