ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 5th of December
SAINT PELINUS, BISHOP OF BRINDISI, MARTYR
Today, we also commemorate Saint Pelinus. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Pelino, in Abruzzo, Saint Pelinus, bishop of Brindisi. Under Julian the Apostate, because by his prayers he caused a temple of Mars to fall to the ground, he was most severely scourged by the idolatrous priests, and being pierced with eighty-five wounds, merited the crown of martyrdom."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saint Pelinus may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
