Saints celebrated on the 3rd of November
SAINTS VALENTINE AND HILARY, MARTYRS
Today, we also commemorate Saints Valentine and Hilary. The Roman Martyrology states:
"At Viterbo, during the persecution of Maximian, the holy martyrs Valentine, priest, and Hilary, deacon. For attachment to the faith of Christ, they were cast into the Tiber with a stone tied to them, but being miraculously rescued by an angel, they were beheaded, and thus were crowned with the glory of martyrdom."
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Valentine and Hilary may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
