ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 23rd of November
Saint Deiniol (Daniel) was a Welsh prince who became the first Bishop of Bangor. Consecrated by Saint David in 545, Deiniol built up the Church in this region by founding monastic communities and churches. The present Cathedral of Bangor is said to have been erected where his monastery once stood. Saint Deiniol died at Bangor Fawr in 584 but was buried at Bardsey Island. He is commemorated on November 23 and September 11.
PRAYER:
Grant, Lord, we pray, that the spirit of prayer fostered by Saint Deiniol, a father of religious life in Wales, may renew and inspire all who gather to celebrate your praise. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
