ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER Saints celebrated on the 31st of December SAINT NOITBURGIS, VIRGIN Saint Noitburgis was a virgin of Cologne. Of high birth, she chose the divine Saviour as the bridegroom of her heart and went into solitude (according to Boll. Jan. I. 750*) , accompanied by her cousin Plectrudis . Since she was still troubled by suitors here, she asked the Lord for the grace of being called away into eternity. Indeed she was heard. Bucelin * calls her a nun. Her lifetime falls into the end of the eighth century. It is not certain whether the so-called Chapel of Noitburgis (Noitburgis-Capelle) at Cologne does indeed bear the name of our Saint. The two princes of the apostles, Peter and Paul, have been patrons of this church since the earliest times. (Kampschulte, Kirchen-Patroc. p. 31).
