SAINT PIERRE DUMOULIN, PRIEST AND MARTYR The missionary Petrus [Pierre] Dumoulin was executed for his faith on November 14, 1838, in Tonkin [Vietnam], along with the local priest Petrus Koa . Petrus Dumoulin was born in Cors, Diocese of Tulle, on February 20, 1808. From childhood, he displayed great piety, a tender devotion to the Mother of God, and a rare work ethic. During a serious illness, he made a vow to dedicate himself entirely to the service of God and, with a dispensation for age for the purpose of missionary work, received priestly ordination on November 21, 1830. As early as July 15 of the following year, he landed in Macau, and two months later he was already in Tonkin. There he preached and baptized amidst a terribly bloody persecution.
