SAINT PHOTINUS, BISHOP OF BENEVENTO Interior of Benevento Cathedral before the WW2 bombing in 1943 Saint Photinus, commemorated on March 1 and November 1, is said to have been the first Bishop of Benevento¹, sent there by the Apostle Peter himself. This is stated in the city's list of saints and in the chronological table of its bishops. His successor, Saint Januarius , is also venerated there.
