  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER   Saints celebrated on the 26th of November WELCOME! SAINT SEBALD, BISHOP OF TRIER Saint Sebald (Sebaldus)  is commemorated on November 26. Some sources list him as Sabandus and (erroneously) Sabaudus . This Saint was was Bishop of Trier (Treves, Triers) at the beginning of the 7th century, and, according to the  Gallia Christiana*,  the 28th in the line of succession. When  Saint Magnericus died in 596, he was succeeded by Gunderich (Gauderich), who was succeeded by Saint Sebald. The dates of the beginning and end of his episcopate are not entirely certain. His successor, Saint Severin (Severinus II) ascended to the episcopal chair around 622. SAINT SEBALD, HERMIT  Saint Sebald [ Sebaldus ] was son of a king of Denmark who resigned all his earthly dignities and assuming the habit of a pilgrim went away into a wood where he lived in great holiness.  THERE CAME AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN AND BROUGHT A LOAF OF BREAD And it happened that Willibald, his brother Wunibald and St Denis came together to the wood, and meeting Sebald they told him that they had nothing to eat. Sebald comforted them saying, that God who had fed the Five Thousand would not permit them to starve, and he went away from them a stone’s throw, and prayed that God would care for them. And there came an angel from heaven bringing a white loaf. Hiding the loaf under his mantle Sebald went to his visitors, and they thanked God and sat down to eat.
