  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN APRIL Saints celebrated on the 30th of April WELCOME!  SAINT SOPHIA OF FERMO, VIRGIN AND MARTYR ⬅️ Sophia, Virgin Saint Sophia suffered for the faith in the third age, at Fermo, in Italy, where her festival is kept on April 30 with great devotion. Her head is shown in a rich case in the cathedral.  (From Fr Butler's Lives of the Saints) *** A 3rd century Christian maiden who laid down her life for Christ at Fermo in Central Italy, probably during the persecution under Decius (A.D. 250).   ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN SEPTEMBER Saints celebrated on the 18th of September SAINTS SOPHIA AND IRENE, MARTYRS Today, we also commemorate Saints Sophia and Irene. The Roman Martyrology states:  "Also, the Saints Sophia and Irene, martyrs." PRAYER: Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Saints Sophia and Irene may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
