ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN FEBRUARY Saints celebrated on the 28th of February WELCOME! VIOLANTIA DE SOUSA, ABBESS [Violantia; also: Violetta, Violeta]. The Bollandists *, as well as the martyrologies of the Benedictine and Cistercian Orders call her Violantia de Sousa . This is probably her family name. Her nunnery is stated to have been Saint Benedictus de Castris. Lechner * writes the following comment about her: "Elected abbess, she lived for 28 years more like an angel than a human being." She died around the year 1400; the Bollandists * list this holy abbess among the Praetermissi (III. 718).
