ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 26th of December
SAINT STEPHEN, PROTOMARTYR
Stephen was the disciple chosen by the Apostles, “full of Faith and the Holy Ghost,” as first of the seven deacons (Acts 6:1-5), and who was also the first of Christian martyrs. He was stoned to death (A.D. 33) by Jews (Acts 7:58).
"FULL OF FAITH AND THE HOLY GHOST"
His body was recovered, together with those of Saints Nicodemus, Gamaliel and Abibo, early in the fifth century; and on that account a second Feast of St Stephen is kept annually on August 3.

PRAYER:
Lord,
today we celebrate the entrance
of Saint Stephen into eternal glory.
He died praying for those who killed him.
Help us to imitate his goodness
and to love our enemies.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
