ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN DECEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 24th of December
BLESSED ADALSINDIS, VIRGIN
Blessed Adalsindis (Adelsindis) was the youngest daughter of Saint Adalbald (Adalbert) and Saint Rictrudis. She seemed to have sucked in the spirit of godliness with her mother's milk and therefore, from a most tender age, despised all claims to the honour of the world.
SHE TOOK THE VEIL
A worthy imitator of the holiness of her family, she took the veil in the Hamay Monastery, which had been founded by her aunt, Saint Gertrude (Gertraud) of Hamage. At that time, her sister, Saint Eusebia, was abbess there. Her holy death occurred in A.D. 715.
HER FEAST DAY
Her feast is entered as December 25 in the menologies of the Benedictine order to which she belonged. Her mother's feast day is May 12.

PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that the venerable feast of Blessed Adalsindis may increase our devotion and promote our salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
