SAINT HADOLUDUS, BISHOP OF MANS
Saint Hadoludus, also known as Chadoindus, Haduindus, Harduinus, Chadoenus, Hadwinus, Caduindus, Clodoenus; in French Chadoin, Hardouin, Audoin, was the twelfth bishop of Mans, who lived in the first half of the seventh century.
HE TOOK PART IN THE COUNCIL OF RHEIMS
He took part in the Council of Rheims (630). However, he was no longer able to attend the Council of Chalons (650) in person, but he was still present through a deputy, Abbot Hagnoaldus, who participated on his behalf.
HE BUILT AND RENOVATED MANY MONASTERIES AND CHURCHES
Saint Hadoludus built and renovated many monasteries and houses of God, including Evron and Boisseliere, and died in great holiness, having presided over the bishopric for more than thirty years.
HIS FEAST DAY
In his will he made the Church of Mans his chief heir. As the Bollandists* note, Castellanus names him on August 20, and also in Butler, where he is named Harduin, it is stated that he died on August 20 (653). Bollandus* himself, who lists his life under the name of Saint Hadoindus, expressly says that his death occurred on January 20.
