BLESSED ANTONIA OF FLORENCE, WIDOW
![]() |
| Bl. Antonia of Florence - fresco |
After the death of her husband, Blessed Antonia of Florence entered the Third Order of Saint Francis. Later, on the advice of Saint John of Capistrano of Aquila she proceeded to join the Poor Clares.
HER PUBLIC VENERATION FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL WAS CONFIRMED IN 1847
Bl. Antonia died on March 11, 1472, at the age of 71. Migne* remarks that the cause of her canonisation is in progress in Rome. Her public veneration from time immemorial was confirmed on September 11, 1847, which is why she is counted among the "blessed".
