ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN MARCH
Saints celebrated on the 14th of March
WELCOME!
BLESSED THOMAS VIVES, RELIGIOUS AND MARTYR
Blessed Thomas Vives, a Mercedarian friar, was sent to Tunis (Africa) to redeem Christians who were held in slavery. He suffered numerous torments in the name of Christ.
Locked up by the enemies of the faith in a dark prison, he spent five years there until he was eventually stoned.
He prayed during this ordeal and, before he expired, saw the vision of heaven opened. The Mercedary Order considers him as a new Saint Stephen.
The Order celebrates his feast day on March 14.
PRAYER:
Grant, we beseech you, almighty God, that we who know how courageously your holy martyr Thomas confessed the faith, may experience his goodness as he intercedes for us with you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
