SAINT CERAUNIUS, BISHOP
His name is derived from the Greek κεραυνός, meaning clap of thunder. - This Saint Ceraunius was Bishop of Paris, and is commonly called St-Ceran in France.
He succeeded Simplicius in the episcopal see of Paris and was distinguished by his piety, zeal and charity.
His devotion to the martyr saints inspired him to collect their details and lives, and to write them down. He died between 601 and 625, and was interred in the Church of Saint Genevieve.
