Saints celebrated on the 16th of May
BLESSED BENEDICTA, ABBESS OF SAINT DAMIAN
Blessed Benedicta - Benedette in French - was abbess of St Damian, a monastery of Poor Clare nuns near Assisi, and successor of St Clare (from A.D. 1253). She died on May 16, 1260, and in the following October her body was transferred to the city of Assisi, namely to the monastery of St George.
