BLESSED LUITPOLD, HERMIT
Blessed Luitpold, also Leutgeb, was probably a son of Count Otto I von Wolfratshausen (from the family of the Counts of Dießen) [Germany]who died on April 24, 1104 and is buried in the church at Bayerdießen near the Ammersee.
His wife Justitia, according to the Dießen historical notes, where she appears as "Saint", was a born Countess of Wittelsbach. She is buried in Donningen near Wolfratshausen and was venerated on January 30.
The Dießen chronicle states of our blessed Luitpold that he felt called to become a hermit. He erected a hermitage at Ellwangen near the village of Breitbrunn, parish of Höckendorf, near the Ammersee. There he led a "holy life". After his passing, "signs and good deeds” happened at his tomb. His memorial day is unknown.
