HUGH OF MARSEILLES, CONFESSOR
Hugh (Hugo), a confessor at Marseilles, is mentioned in the Elenchus*. According to Bucelin*, he was a monk at the monastery of St Victor there.
The cross of the holy Apostle Andrew, this precious treasure that had been missing for a long time, was finally located upon heavenly instructions received by Hugo. Following this divine revelation, the priceless item was retrieved and stored at the monastery with the greatest reverence. Our pious monk died in 1152. (Buc.)
