LEONTIUS, ABBOT OF ST MAURICE
Leontius was abbot of St Moritz [St Maurice], who ruled this old abbey at the beginning of the 7th century for 5 years, 5 months, 4 days. He died in the odour of sanctity around A.D. 606, on October 22. Some write his name Leonimus, as Burgener* does; but on the older registers of the abbots one never wrote anything other than Leonz. (Burg. I. 384).
