Saints celebrated on the 5th of November

MARGARITA DE CONCEPTIONE, VIRGIN

Margarita de Conceptione, an Ursuline nun at Havre de Grace, spent two years as a domestic assistant at the convent at Rouen, where she was compared to Nathanael for her sincerity and frankness. 

From Rouen she came to the convent in Havre de Grace. After taking her profession, she was soon afflicted with sickness and therefore could not show much of her heroic practice of virtue. Instead she gave herself to spiritual reading, contemplation and prayer, from which she drew heavenly consolation. She died on November 5, 1643, after many serious illnesses. 

After her death, her face became quite beautiful and well-formed, so that everyone had to recognise something supernatural about it. She had promised her nurse to pick her up soon after her death, which happened a few days later. (Tagb. II. 673).

  ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN JANUARY Saints celebrated on the 7th of January WELCOME! SAINT VALENTINE, BISHOP OF RHAETIA Saint Valentine (Valentinus) is the patron saint of the diocese of Passau. The Proprium of Passau relates his life story as follows: Saint Valentine came from the seashore and arrived at Batava, today's Passau. Here he wanted to proclaim the gospel to the inhabitants, who were ignorant of the true worship of God, and therefore went to Rome to obtain the necessary authority from the Pope for this undertaking. Upon his return, he invested much time and effort to gain those lost souls for Christ, as the Pope expected him to. Valentine himself thirsted for their salvation, incessantly preaching the Divine word to them. After some considerable time, however, Valentine realised that all the seed he had sown fell on rocky ground.
