NICHOLAS OF PARIS, RELIGIOUS
Nicholas (Nicolaus), a pious Franciscan and famous exegete, died godly in A.D. 1340 at Paris. He was of Jewish descent, possessed a very thorough knowledge of the Hebrew language, and used his learning excellently to convert his former co-religionists, many of whom he won to Jesus Christ and the kingdom of heaven.
