Saints celebrated on the 6th of June
NICHOLAS SKERRETT, ARCHBISHOP OF TUAM, MARTYR
[Nicholas Skerrett] (Nicolaus Skeretus), archbishop of Tuam, who lived under Queen Elizabeth at the time of the persecution of the Catholics, was sentenced by her to severe imprisonment, from which he eventually managed to escape to Portugal after sixteen months of suffering. He died at Lisbon on June 6, 1583. (Weissb. III. 137.)
