Saints celebrated on the 2nd of November
SAINT AMBROSE, ABBOT OF SAINT MAURICE
Saint Ambrose (Ambrosius) was abbot of the monastery of St Moritz (Agaunum) [Abbey of Saint Maurice, Saint-Maurice d'Agaune] in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
He lived during the reign of King Sigismund of Burgundy, who restored this monastery. He himself followed St Hymnemodus and had St Achida (Achidus) as successor. He died around A.D. 560. His name is listed in the Roman Martyrology on November 2. (Buc.)
