SAINT CARPREUS, ABBOT
Saint Carpreus (St-Chairbre in French) was the founder of a monastery in Ireland. According to some authors, he was originally from Brittany. He lived towards the end of the 6th century. The church of his monastery bears his name, and he is venerated at Tirsiachre in County Connaught. (El., Mg.)
