SAINT CARPUS, BISHOP OF BEREA
Saint Carpus was one of the 72 disciples of the Lord, and Bishop of Berea, who supported St Paul the Apostle in preaching the gospel. He is supposed to have died in peace as bishop of Berea, although some say he was killed by the Jews. He is listed in the Roman Martyrology* on October 13.
St Carpus is also commemorated on May 26.
