SAINT LAUTENUS, ABBOT
Saint Lautenus (French: St-Lautein), the 6th-century Abbot of Moisney (Maximiniacum), left the world in his youth and entered a monastery at Autun.
Some time later he founded the monastery of Moisney, as well as that of Celle-Lautein and several others in the kingdom of Burgundy. He remained in charge of all of the foundations, while each had its own abbot.
In Elenchus*, St Lautenus occurs on November 1. In Migne* September 25 is also mentioned as his feast day. (mg)
