SAINT SABOR, BISHOP AND MARTYR
Saint Sabor (Saporius) was a 4th century bishop and martyr in Persia. He died as a result of harsh treatment in prison.
King Artashir (King Sapor's son and successor), prince of Adialene (Chadjab), did not believe that the holy bishop had really died. Therefore he gave orders to have the head cut off the bishop's corpse and to have it brought to him (in A.D. 339).
St Sabor is also commemorated on April 22.
