Saints celebrated on the 14th of May
SAINT SALVIUS OF NEVERS
This saint, listed in the martyrologies of today and venerated at Nevers (Nivernum), is not the same person as St Salvius of Albi. He lived and died before the 7th century. Long before that, there was a chapel built in his honour in the area of Auxerre (nova villa S. Salvii). Not much has been handed down concerning this St Salvius. By some he is called a confessor, by others a monk (hermit), and by others a martyr. (VII. 853–856)
St Salvius is also commemorated on October 16 and October 28.
