ALL SAINTS CELEBRATED IN NOVEMBER
Saints celebrated on the 27th of November
SAINT SEVERIN, HERMIT
At first, Saint Severin (Severinus) lived in Paris as a Benedictine, and then, after a short sojourn in Provence at Novientum, now St Cloud, he settled near that town as a recluse. The reputation of his holiness prompted St Clodoald to become Severin's disciple, and to serve God as priest and monk.
St Severin's relics are kept and venerated at the Cathedral Church in Paris. In the local diocese, his feast is celebrated on November 27. He lived and died in the middle of the 6th century. The Roman Martyrology*, too, honours his memory.
St Severin is also commemorated on November 23.
