Saints celebrated on the 25th of June
ADRIAN, RELIGIOUS AND MARTYR
Adrian belonged to the Order of Saint Francis. From his monastery at Alkmaar in Holland he was taken to Enkhuysen - along with his guardian and three priests - by the heretical Geuses. There these holy men were hanged because they persevered in the Catholic faith. Artur du Monstier*, who published a martyrology of the Franciscan Order, counts him and the others who were killed with him among the "blessed."
