ANGELUS OF MONTE CASSINO, RELIGIOUS
Angelus, a monk at the monastery of Monte Cassino, in expiation for the sins which he had committed through a sensual life, took the habit of the Order and lived a most penitent life. He died with a reputation for holiness in A.D. 1010. Some writers, for example Bucelin*, list him among the "venerable", others among the "pious" (pii); but Mabillon* mentions Angelus without any title. (Mab.)
