BLESSED RAINERIUS, RELIGIOUS

Blessed Rainerius, of Borgo di San Sepolcro, was a Capuchin priest. He died in A.D. 1586 at Todi in Umbria with such a reputation for piety that the process of his canonisation was initiated. His veneration was confirmed by Pope Pius VII

One day a bull, which he was about to drive into the stable, picked him up with his horns and threw him into the air, but Rainerius remained unharmed. This scene is often depicted.
Blessed Rainerius is also commemorated on February 4.
