BLESSED ROLAND, ABBOT

Blessed Roland (Rolandus) was a Cistercian abbot of Chevery (Chiffery), known for his extraordinary piety and austerity. He died around the year 1200. Because of the miracles that took place at his grave, he was entered in the register of saints of his Order. 

Blessed Roland is also commemorated on July 14 and July 15.
