HARTGAR, MISSIONARY
Hartgar (Hartgarius, Ardgarius), a priest, formerly a hermit, is named by the Bollandists* among the apostolic men who supported Saint Anscharius [Saint Ansgar] in the conversion of the Swedes. He is frequently mentioned in the biography of Saint Anscharius.
